A quick look at the signals shaping buyer behavior
right now.

Demand is showing up in fewer, higher-intent moments

What’s happening?

One shift that keeps showing up in the data is where demand actually concentrates.

It isn’t spread evenly across channels. It clusters in a smaller set of moments where buyers are actively trying to make a decision.

Informa TechTarget data points to environments like vendor websites, independent media, search, and industry events.

What these environments share is intent. People aren’t just exploring in these spaces; they’re evaluating options, comparing approaches, and looking for signals they can rely on.

That distinction changes how a lot of marketing activity shows up. Much of what gets labeled as demand generation happens around these moments, rather than within them.

That helps explain a common tension. Teams are active across a wide range of channels, but the impact can feel uneven because they’re not always present when decisions are taking shape.

Why it matters

One pattern keeps coming up consistently: No single piece of content is doing the job on its own.

People move across sources and formats without much friction. They read something, then look at the product, then listen to an executive, then check who else is using it. Each of those interactions adds context.

What matters most is how those interactions stack. Buyers are looking for alignment between what a company says, what others say about it, and what they can see for themselves.

CMO of Kooth Digital Health Kate Biehl put it this way: “Consistency matters more than flash.”

The upshot

This doesn’t point to doing less. It points to being more deliberate about where and how you show up.

When something isn’t landing, it’s worth asking a more specific question: Are we present in the moments where buyers are actually making decisions?
